permissions post;

Coming from a canon which allowed the twins to travel through the time and space dimensions, they could almost always predict the outcome of just about any situation. It was their personal experiment to add variables to the constant that was Booker DeWitt's life. And for more than one hundred attempts, it always came out to one of two endings. Spoilersss~

My goal in Maison is to cancel out their traveling abilities while still keeping them in touch with that timespace warp. I'll do this by using a less glorified version of their creation of the Lutece Tear, they will be able to witness the alternate dimension from outside the small bubble— Unable to enter the dimension as they normally would.

I'm only asking permission from you about specific moments in your character's history or future that changes their canon ending that you allow the Twins to be share with your character or something they simply hint at your character if you do not want them to be spoiled of their future.
  • Game characters which are capable of multiple endings based upon player decisions.
  • Any other character who has experienced an alternate timeline of any sort (Buffy/Angel, Supernatural, etc etc).
  • If your character has had a major plot point decision that could have changed the entire outcome of their story, the twins may (with permission and your headcanon guidance) would know small things about the opposite decision made by your character.
If any of these apply to your character and you would like some intimate not the sexy kind of CR with the Luteces, fill out the thingy below and we can plot stuff!

I would like to reiterate that I will likely be doing research on your canon just to make sure I understand context, but in the event that I don't have time (or if it's too far into the series) I would really appreciate as many details about the situation as possible and needed that the twins would be capable of knowing. This means that knowledge they 'see' through their tears in the warp will only be limited to what you tell me.

If you don't want the Lutece's to flat out expose their knowledge of your character, they can drop hints every now and again just to freak your character out. It's all up to you! And of course, if I ever go too far with the information be sure to let me know and I'll edit/retcon anything I need to. I'll always try to be careful to maintain your permissions, so I hope this won't happen.

  • Are the Lutece's able to see the decisions/moments that have changed your character's path?
  • What about these decisions/moments can they know?
  • Are they able to see the alternate outcomes of these decisions?
  • What is significant / What should they know about these alternate outcomes?
  • Has your character personally experienced an alternate timeline in their canon?
  • Can the Twins know about that alternate timeline? What should they know about it?
  • Would you like them to be discreet with this information? Can they blurt it out or should they drop hints?

I may edit this as needed, but for now this is just the basic information I think I'll need to begin plotting with you!

Your Name and Way of Contact: I'm Plague. Hi! I'm [plurk.com profile] Jaetopus over on Plurk, and that's the best way to get me. If you ping me there, I'll get an email even if I'm not on Plurk right then.

Your Character Name and Canon: I've got Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians, and Yamamoto Takeshi here from Katekyo Hitman REBORN! Jack's got a pretty straightforward timeline, though, so for the sake of this post, it'll be all Yama all the time.

Are the Lutece's able to see the decisions/moments that have changed your character's path? Sure, sounds like good times.

What about these decisions/moments can they know? It's less a set point and more a series of actions that changed the future, so I'm fine with them knowing any part of it. I'll summarize down below exactly what's different, but basically, because this particular set of people existed in this particular time and took this particular set of actions, the world didn't get destroyed. In all other alternate timelines, it was destroyed in various and unhappy ways by the Big Bad of that arc, Byakuran. The twins are welcome to know/see any of the alternate timelines or the changes that kept this one intact.

Are they able to see the alternate outcomes of these decisions? Kinda said that up above, I suppose, but yes.

What is significant / What should they know about these alternate outcomes? Okay, so, basically, there's a bad guy named Byakuran. Through an unlikely series of events featuring a time-travel-causing bazooka, he learned how to become aware of his alternate selves across every timeline, and used that awareness to take over every world possible. The main good guys either did not exist in the other timelines, were not ready, or just plain made the wrong choices to stop him everywhere but the main timeline. Sort of Marvel 616, as it were. So, like I said, it's less a 'they made x choice or y choice' and more 'the stars aligned, hallelujah' that made the difference.

Has your character personally experienced an alternate timeline in their canon? Yes. It's variously referred to as the Future Arc, the TYL Arc, or the Ten Years Later Arc. The main group of characters actually get sent ten years into their own future to fight the big bad there and save all timelines including their own. Because they then have that knowledge and use it to change their future actions once they go back to their present, it becomes an alternate timeline. They only directly experience the one future, but they're made aware of many others. I don't know if you're familiar with KHR or not, but if you need more detail, I'll be happy to give you a good summary, I just don't want to spam you with stuff you might already know. XD

Can the Twins know about that alternate timeline? What should they know about it? Yep. Anything above.

Would you like them to be discreet with this information? Can they blurt it out or should they drop hints? Either is just fine. Yama's not the most subtle most of the time, either, so hitting him over the head with stuff usually doesn't hurt. XD Then again, if you'd rather he just GIVE THEM ALL THE SIDE-EYES, they can totally drop hints and he'll just wonder if they're another Byakuran.
